The beauty of Taiwan - food - Beef noodle soup

Beef noodle soup is the well-known food in Taiwan, just like pineapple cake. People come to Taiwan must try it. The price range of beef noodle soup is pretty large. It could be as cheap as NT$80 up to NT$500 per bowl. You may want to check out the price before you sit down.

In Taipei city, it is really easy to find a beef noodle soup house everywhere. You can get it on the street where next to your hotel or in the department store, or even in Michelin restaurant. Show off a bit, as a very small country, Taiwan has 20 Michelin restaurants. 

Please don’t have a limited idea of beef noodle soup! You can never taste the same flavor from one shop to another shop. Every shop has its own secret recipe. It is a taste of art. Therefore, you can try as many beef noodle soups as you want during your stay.

Beef noodle soup basically can divide into two major flavors, one is Braised Beef Noodle Soup and another one is Stewed Beef Noodle Soup. Braised one is very rich, red color, and a bit spicy; stewed one is light, elegant, and a bit sweet. I recommend you to try both of them because you will find out how different and tasty they are.

The side dishes are also nice to give it a try. Most of them are cold dishes. They can increase your appetite and also cool you down when you have too much spicy. If you are a “spicy lover,” most of beef noodle soup houses produce their own signature chili source. Be aware, some of them are extremely spicy. Please have a very small taste first and then increase it gradually.
